The FSS has plenty of opportunities for you to break away from the stress of deployment, engage your children in fun activities, sports or classes and even give yourself a break through hourly childcare.
To check eligibility, please take a copy of
your orders to the Airmen & Family Readiness Center at 525 Holzapple Street. If you qualify,
they'll issue you a PLAYpass card that is worth over $500 in discounts on classes, programs and activities. But hurry, the card
expires 90 days after your deployment ends!

and the site can be accessed from any computer once you've picked up a token from the Education Center.
Family Child Care
Family Child Care providers offer in-home care for children ages 2 weeks to 12 years as a supplement to the Child Development Center. These providers also offer alternative care such as weekend, flexible or extended hours and for very young infants or children with special needs.

GFAFB Tax Center
The Grand Forks AFB Tax Center will be open 1 Feb-12 April on Tue-Thu from 8 ma to 3 pm. The Center is located on the north side of the A&FRC between the Drug Demand Reduction Office and the Airman's Attic.
We can help customers with simple tax returns utilizing the Form 1040EZ or 1040A. Customers will be seen by appointment. A limited number of walk-in customers will be helped from 11 am to noon on a first come, first served basis.

One Page at a Time offers literary enrichment opportunities for youth ages 5-13 and creates a passion for reading. Register at the Youth Center or Library, get reading, and turn in reading forms to the Youth Center through 9 March. Top readers will win prizes!
School Liaison
The School Liaison Office is your clearinghouse for all matters related to K-12 military child education for the Total Force in and around Grand Forks, ND. School Liaison services are available to help families cope with normal reactions to stressors related to multiple relocations, deployments, and everyday challenges of military life. Hours of operation are 8 am to 4:30 pm Mon-Fri. Located in the Airman and Family Readiness Center.
Calling all Artists, Writers, & Musicians! Military Child Education Coalition is calling for military students to showcase their talents. Students in grades K-12 have the opportunity to submit art, poetry, essays, and videos and share their creative skills with the rest of the world. The deadline for submission is February 2012. Events - Individuals can sign up for events through their Squadron Sport.

Spring Turkey Season Set, Online Applications Available: The ND Game and Fish Department is offering 5,795 wild turkey licenses for the spring hunting season. Spring turkey applicants can apply at www.gf.nd.gov Application forms will also be available by February 1st at most license vendors (Including Outdoor Recreation). The deadline for applying is February 15th. Turkey licenses are available only to ND residents; the season opens April 14th and runs through May 20th

We have minnows for $3/scoop (about 2 dozen). Unfortunately our bait vendor cannot offer us "guaranteed to catch fish" minnows; however, our team tested a sample and were moderately successful for perch, wallys, and slimers...come see us, eh!
