Airman & Family Readiness Center
The mission of the A&FRC is to help individuals and families understand the adventure of the Air Force life comes with opportunities and challenges they can meet. Some of it will be fun. Some of it will be work. Much of it will be tough. There will be long and short family separations, unexpected PCS moves, missed holidays—some brutal weather, and occasionally sick kids. Some of the challenges will be unique to military families but most will be part of growing as an individual and developing as a spouse, parent, neighbor, employee, and/or a valued adult member of society.
The A&FRC is a community based agency. We work with other community based agencies, both on and off base, to provide information, programs, services and resources to help individuals and families navigate the hills and turns encountered in this life.
Our core services address issues related to finances, deployment, transition, education, self-sufficiency, disaster response, career issues, crisis intervention, as well as understanding and accessing resources.
We believe, and value, the Wingman concept. We also believe in the importance of taking responsibility for one’s own behavior and developing an awareness of our role in the challenges we face. The A&FRC works with other helping agencies to assist individuals and families acquire the skills needed to regulate behavior and emotions, and improve relationships though information, resources, and training.
Community Readiness Consultants from the A&FRC are assigned to each of the squadrons. The CRCs are a resource for commanders, first sergeants, and supervisors in dealing with the needs of their people. They assist individuals and families facing financial matters, spouse employment, and deployment issues.
The A&FRC also assists in Air Force Aid Society Emergency Assistance; Preseparation Counseling; Exceptional Family Member issues; Survivor Benefit Briefings; as well as Family Readiness & Personal Preparedness Briefings and daily Reintegration briefings.
